Animate Anime Handsome Man Like Pro With TBH
Welcome to a special explanation about animation. It's been a while since I haven't published animation lessons, but here I am! I'm going to show you how to animate one of the scenes I'm working on, which is a short animation, for one of my two characters #Wsicy
Today's lesson will be about how to animate the hair of an anime guy from the side, and the method will be "frame by free" or the traditional animation, as we will draw each scene in a separate frame, until we get the desired movement, so let's get to work!
1
When we open the Toon Boom Harmony program, we go to the option at the top, and we will include an image of the anime character that we want to animate.
2
This window will open in front of us, and we choose the “Browse” option and go to the location of the character’s image and add it to the program
3
I chose this page, I could have drawn him from the beginning, but to save time I included a picture I had drawn earlier of the young man from the side
4
We immediately start drawing, in a separate layer, as it is not possible to draw directly on the pictures anyway, so we draw the face with a layer separate from the layer of hair, eyes, etc.
You have several options for drawing, whether it is a pen, feather, or drawing tool, and I prefer using the latter because it is easier and gives a cleaner drawing.
5
Here we are adding a special layer for the eyes "or one eye because the young man appears from the side only" and the method is clear in the picture
6
Notice how the layers are distributed, believe me, it is not that complicated, just look at the picture, and you will see that for each part we drew, there is a special layer for it, such as the face and eyes, and later the hair and the body
What is displayed in the right menu, "Node View", is the same as what is in the "Timeline", i.e. the distribution of layers on top of each other.
7
Here is drawing the hair "which we will now move" on a layer or a separate layer
8
When I finished drawing the first frame of the hair, I went and drew the hair in another frame with a different movement, in order for the hair to appear flying with the air.
And what you see below is the in-between frame, and through the “onion skin” tool as it is called, or “onion skin,” we can see the poetry in the previous and subsequent “frames.”
The red is the previous drawing, and the green is the next drawing, and this makes it much easier for us to move, and it is an indispensable tool for us.
Animating anime poetry is a dilemma for me! And I don't hide from you that I almost lost my mind trying to move!!
When I'm in a dilemma like this "like I don't know which strand is the one I'm moving" and having a large number of strands of hair is very confusing, and I might make a mistake during the "animation", then I follow a simple trick, which is to draw a line between the two previous "red" strands, and the next green one.” Thus, I make sure that I am moving the same strand without making mistakes or crowding the flying hairs.
9
Here I had finished drawing the body and coloring it "we will not move the body" and when we finished moving the hair, we would color it in the appropriate color, and I chose navy blue or gradient black
10
Since we have finished moving the anime hair together, it is time to move the eye while it blinks, and there is a whole previous lesson on how to move the anime eye while it blinks, however I will explain to you here.
Rest assured that moving the eye here will be the easiest, as we will use the move tool, notice in the picture, we drew the eye looking to the side, and inside it the pupil with its own layer, we combine them by means of “peg” and put the focal point below the eye, because when the eye blinks it closes down
11
Then, with the help of the move tool, we grab the yellow point in the middle, and pull the eye down, and thus the eye becomes closed and in place, due to the pivot point.
Its shape may be a little strange, or it may be flat, and that's okay, the movement will be fast and no one will notice it
You can specify whether you want the eye to be closed in one or two frames, and not more than two frames in case the eye will blink normally.
12
Now we add a ready-made background that we drew before through the options that I specified for you in the image
As you can see, I wanted to explain to you how I arranged the layers behind each other, as the background is behind, and then the young man is in the foreground "that is, close to the camera."
13
Now we come to a special step, which will make the scene take on a more beautiful character, which is adding a blur to the background. It is true that it is optional, but it will make the viewer focus on the character much more and add aesthetics to the shot.
From the effects place on the bottom side, we choose the “blur box” and drag it towards the “node view” on the right directly, and paste it exclusively on the background, and the image is the best example
14
We can choose how blurry the background is, the higher the number, the greater the blur, here is the number 3 and notice how the palace has been blurred a little
And here the settings are on the number 15, and the background is almost hidden
I decided to make it number 5
15
This step is optional, and it is adding sunlight to the scene. I do not know, but I like to add it in most scenes in which the anime characters are outside. In any case, as we did before, from the location of the effects, we search for a “lens flare”, then we drag it Go to the "Node View" and this time paste it on the scene itself
The final result
I really hope you like it. Animation work is fun and not difficult as many think. Try to benefit from this lesson in any animation program you like. You can even animate on paper, in the traditional way. I will be very happy when you send it to me. Some of your distinguished works, with my sincere regards.
