Creating Anime-Style Rain Animation in Toon Boom

Welcome to a new explanation centered on animation, and here we will review together a very easy method for moving rain that I mastered recently, and I decided to share it with you, because in the past I used to try the rain provided by the #Ton_Boom_Harmony program, and it was difficult and complicated, but it was not The result is as I hope it is, so I adopted this method and let's see what it is.

Step 1:

Go to Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or whatever program you like to draw on, and you add a ruler to help you draw straight lines vertically.

And we color the background black so that we can only see the rain that we will paint.

Step 2:

We add a new layer or "Layer" and choose the white color, and using the Pen Tool or "Pen Tool" we draw small lines randomly and irregularly, and these will be the rain, each drop must be different from the others.

Step 3:

We get rid of the black background, leaving us with a transparent background with the rain layer that we drew, and we export the file in PNG format, from the list in the top left.

Step 4:

Then we go to the Toon Boom Harmony program, and add the rain that we drew, through that list that I have selected for you in red color "and she is responsible for adding images and backgrounds to the Toon Boom Harmony program."

Step 5:

In the layer dedicated to the rain image, we add pig from the insertion tag in the bottom menu, and in the layer dedicated to the rain image, we add pig from the insertion tag in the bottom menu, and then we add a "key frame".

Then, we move to the other key frame, and invert the image, and I mark the tool with the red circle for you.

And now we have the same image, but once inverted, and once as it is. Where it will appear as if the rain is falling and moving without any effort in one way!

Then we copy the frames and paste them so that the timeline is filled with the desired number of frames.

This method is practical and does not take any time, and it is somewhat similar to the style of the anime, and from now on I think I will adopt this method, because it gives the scene more realism.

You can control the number of rain pictures you want to add, so instead of one, you can add up to five, with fewer drops in each image, and combine them in the program.
