Welcome, my dear friends to " Mastering Manga Bottom Angle", today we will learn how to draw from a bottom angle. Drawing a manga character from the bottom has always been a bit complicated, and there are many ways to draw, and I chose for you the method that I see as the easiest and quickest, so that we can raise Our graphics level better.
As we know, the far part is smaller, and the closer part is larger, so we will start drawing a rectangle, vertically, and the top (where the head is located) will be narrow because it is far from the camera, and the bottom, since it is close to the camera from below, will be wider.
Red arrows indicate this
When we finish drawing the rectangle for " Mastering Manga Bottom Angle", as in the right picture, we draw its continuation inside, so that the final shape will resemble a cube.
Here we will begin to draw the head of the manga character, using the same rectangle. “We will draw the head as I explained to you in previous lessons.”
We must draw the head in a way that matches the corner of the rectangle, by drawing over the lines of the rectangle itself
In the left picture, there is an arrow pointing towards the chin. It is necessary for the chin to protrude when we draw from a lower angle.
Now let's complete the body for " Mastering Manga Bottom Angle":
We will draw a long line from under the neck, passing down, dividing the body in half
We draw a horizontal line, which is the shoulder.
Then we draw two lines on the side, thus forming a rectangle for the entire upper part of the body
It is necessary to draw the shoulders narrowly, while the pelvis is wider
Notice with me here how when we draw from a lower angle, the features automatically point upward:
The nose, for example, appears as if it is raised
The chin is noticeably prominent
The ear faces downward
Less hair appears in the frontal area, while it is more visible from the bottom of the head
The far eye (the right eye according to the picture) is smaller than the other eye (this is because the head is turned towards the right side and not forward).
At this stage, we draw the rest of the character's body, including clothes and hands, according to your manga scenario.
The head, since it is far from the camera, should appear small compared to the hands, which appear large, because they are closer to the camera.
Here, after we have finished planning, we must start inking, on top of the “sketch” that we drew previously.
And this is how the final result of our manga painting will look from "Drawing Manga Perspective", where we drew the young man holding a coat, looking at it, from a lower angle, keeping in mind the camera that is supposed to be below. They practiced this way, And you will master it faster.
